Eat The Rainbow

I wasn’t always a meal preppin mama. I was a fly by the seat of my pants, Jets pizza twice a week kinda girl. My waistline and my cholesterol reflected it.

Getting pregnant caused me to really take a stand on what I was putting into my body, and shifting my mindset toward “food is fuel”..Starting this wellness journey postpartum, I committed to the workouts and was kind of eating healthy, and kind of getting good results. Once I actually learned and committed to the nutrition side was when everything changed.

I had more energy to power through the workouts, I was eating MORE and losing weight. What was this trickery? Nothing, it was just my body no longer in starvation mode but in fat burning mode.

It didn’t happen overnight, it took small changes, every day, until it became a habit then a lifestyle. It didn’t include counting calories cause ya know ya girl hates that! It also didn’t include giving up my favorite foods, just a little moderation and intentional choices.

I’ve learned (of course the hard way) that nutrition is 80% of the results. Workout all you want but if you’re not following a nutrition program, you’re not going to get the best results. End of story.

Don’t wait until you’re growing another human to get hip to eating well to feel well. Use food as your medicine, your fuel, your lifeblood. Your body, mind, and energy levels will thank you!
