You have to challenge your body to change it. You also have to challenge your mind, rewrite the default code. We are programmed to be cynical, have a negative bias. It’s a safety mechanism to a point but often it becomes our normal thought pattern. I work everyday to continue resetting toward the positive. Exercise helps pump those good feeling endorphins, good whole nutrition feeds the body and the mind, creates clarity and more energy overall.
We can’t forget about the most important part though.. our mindset. It’s the foundation for everything. Because if you think you can’t, you won’t. If you think you can, you’re unstoppable. Our thoughts create our actions. Therefore.. change your thoughts, change your actions, change your whole freakin LIFE.
It’s not woo woo, it’s science backed REAL talk. This stuff WORKS if you work it. Not so long ago I was caught in a cycle. Same thoughts, same actions, same hamster wheel. Every. Single. Day. It was draining, depressing, and doing me NO favors. I started working on and changing my thought patterns (hint: it wasn’t easy!), incorporating better nutrition, adding in gentle exercise and working my way up.
Everyday certainly isn’t unicorns and rainbows now, but having a healthy mindset allows me to manage whatever comes up in life. I accept thoughts that come up and instead of shoving them under the rug, I face them, hang onto them if they’re good and let the ones go that don’t serve me.
YOU are the gatekeeper, the bouncer of your mind. YOU decide what stays and what goes. I quit allowing shitty thoughts to live rent free in my mind. I kicked them to the curb and my life is wildly different and better for it.
Try this affirmation today: I BELIEVE IN ME. I AM THE KEEPER OF MY THOUGHTS AND THE CREATOR OF MY REALITY.
